Can you read Honda fault codes?
Yes, on Honda engines that have a computer we read the stored codes and engine data. Older carbureted engines are diagnosed with hands-on tests.
How often should a Honda outboard be serviced in Hawai‘i?
At least once a year. We do a full yearly service every 200 hours or 1 year, whichever comes first, with a new water pump impeller every time, plus the 100-hour service Honda calls for if you run a lot of hours. Each model's factory schedule is in our Honda service guides below.
Do you use genuine Honda parts?
We use OEM (factory) parts or parts of equal quality unless you ask otherwise. Parts usually take about a week to reach Hawaiʻi, so we book the visit when they arrive.
