Quick answers

What two-stroke oil does a Yamaha V4 two-stroke 100 / 115 / 130 / 140 use?
2-stroke outboard motor oil, grade TC-W3. Oil injected models: engine oil tank 0.9 L (0.95 US qt, 0.79 Imp qt), sub-oil tank 10.5 L (11.1 US qt, 9.2 Imp qt).
What is the fuel to oil ratio for a Yamaha V4 two-stroke 100 / 115 / 130 / 140?
Oil injected models: fill the fuel tank with 50:1 fuel/oil mixture only for air bleeding the oil injection system and for the oil pump discharge test.
What gear oil does a Yamaha V4 two-stroke 100 / 115 / 130 / 140 use, and how much?
GEAR CASE LUBE (USA) or hypoid gear oil, SAE 90. Quantity: USA models (115TR, 130TR): regular rotation 785 cm³ (26.5 US oz, 27.7 Imp oz); counter rotation 715 cm³ (24.2 US oz, 25.2 Imp oz). Fill through the drain hole until oil flows from the check hole with no bubbles.
What spark plug does a Yamaha V4 two-stroke 100 / 115 / 130 / 140 use?
USA models: 115TR BR8HS-10, 130TR BR9HS-10 (NGK), qty 4. Worldwide models: 100A, E115A, 115BE, 115BET, 115BETO B8HS-10; 115CETO B8HS-10 (Oceania) or BR8HS-10; B115TR BR8HS-10; 130BETO, L130BETO B9HS-10 (Oceania) or BR9HS-10; 140BET B9HS-10. Gap: 0.9 to 1.0 mm (0.035 to 0.039 in).
How often should a Yamaha V4 two-stroke 100 / 115 / 130 / 140 be serviced?
The factory schedule lists: Initial 10 hours (Break-in); Initial 50 hours (3 months); Every 100 hours (6 months); Every 200 hours (1 year). In Hawaiʻi's salt water we do a full yearly service every 200 hours or 1 year, whichever comes first, and a new engine needs its first (break-in) service.
When should the water pump impeller be replaced on a Yamaha V4 two-stroke 100 / 115 / 130 / 140?
The factory schedule gives no replacement interval. In Hawaiʻi's warm salt water we replace it every 200 hours or 1 year, whichever comes first, because a worn impeller is the most common cause of overheating.
What is the idle speed of a Yamaha V4 two-stroke 100 / 115 / 130 / 140?
750 ± 50 r/min; trolling speed 650 ± 50 r/min.
What is the propeller nut torque on a Yamaha V4 two-stroke 100 / 115 / 130 / 140?
55 N·m (5.5 m·kg, 40 ft·lb).
